Summer Camp

In some inner city areas, summer overnight camp for a child, is not a luxury but a necessity.

What takes the school 10 months to build in a child, can be undone in just two short months of hanging around the street corners, surrounded by negative influences.

UJCF provides scholarships for many children from underprivileged families, to attend overnight camps.

Overnight camp has the most intense influence on a child, being that he is under a positive influence for a full 24 hours and sometimes for 8 weeks straight. Unlike during the year, where children in many cases are exposed to unhealthy influences during their after school free time.

After School Programs

Have you ever wondered why it is that a child can be born to a perfectly normal family, attend a good school, have parents who are good role models, and yet when they grow up they stray from the fold, or get involved in other troubles?

The answer lies in many cases in what that child is doing when he is outside the warmth and safety of his home & school. That’s where UJCF comes in.

We identify community environments where children after school are left with no alternatives such as safe parks to play in, or community centers to be a member of, and that’s where we focus our attention.

This need becomes even more evident with children from underprivileged backgrounds & youth at risk. UJCF’s after school programs focus on helping this need and filling the voids where possible.

Winter Retreats

As part of our effort to help children with their school studies, as well as occupying their free time with positive experiences & support groups, UJCF began an incentive program that also compliments their school work.

The way it works is, the more effort they put in to their school work, the more chance they have to be chosen to attend a wonderful weekend retreat organized by UJCF which is either held at a community center, or at our facility in PA.
